Also, my sister *HatakeKelley and I got two new boys in our lives: two adorable Blue Rats.



This is Oscar, my rat. Isn't he pretty? At first, I liked my grandpa's name Ike for him ("I Like Ike" Presidential Pun hurr hurr hurr ), but I later decided that Oscar, my great-grandfather's name, was better.



And this is Charlie, Kelley's rat. Kelley always names her rodents Charlie. We had gerbils when we were in Middle School.

Although they are brothers, the boys are pretty different. Charlie is very curious, and he loves to explore and try new things. He isn't very content with sitting still, but he loves to climb and play with his ball. Charlie loves Cheerios, and he will snatch food from his passive brother whenever he gets the chance.

Oscar is more subdued than his excitable brother. He loves to sit in my lap and be petted (which is great, since he is the softest ). He is not adventurous like Charlie, and he won't try a new food or play with a toy unless he sees Charlie do it first. Oscar's favorite snack is carrots.



In fact, here is Oscar eating some pieces of carrot.



Oh wait, don't look, Oscar is grooming himself.



Here are the boys in their cage. The second one was taken right after Charlie had snatched a piece of carrot away from his brother (I wasn't fast enough to catch it on film).



I put my hand in the cage, and the boys came up to investigate it. Charlie is on the left, and Oscar is on the right.
