I have been fangirling over the new Databook release for the whole afternoon. Unfortunately, several portions of it have yet to be translated and posted online, particularly the sections that might be related to the pairing wars. I will update once that info is available. BUT, we now have a lot more information on the Akatsuki, including DEIDARA.

Deidara loved to stay in the Akatsuki, because he thought all of the Akatsuki members are kind of artistic and is easy to get a chance to fight against a strong enemy by catching Biju.

His last jutsu is called "CO" (not zero, O)

I'm surprised by Deidara's age; I was expecting him to be a bit younger than that. I guess he's just really short. Ah, well, I'm still right about him being the youngest of the Akatsuki and younger than 20 (the legal drinking age in Japan). Luckily, I have to make very minimal adjustments to OIAI for it to fit with the new info. All I really need to do is alter his age, along with another minor change that has yet to appear in the doujinshi. No worries.

Also, Kishimoto was interviewed for the databook, and although many of the questions were rather useless and odd, one grabbed my attention (and many other's as well):

Q. Do members of Akatsuki pairs sleep somewhere at night?
A. They get two single rooms.

Well, it looks like Kishimoto is finally setting the record straight with the Akatsuki yaoi fans: it's officially NOT canon. It won't (and shouldn't) stop fangirls from liking the yaoi pairings, but hopefully they will finally stop acting as if the most dangerous shinobi in the Naruto world are gay for each other in canon.

A. He would just come out from your bottom.

A. Because signing a contract with Gamabunta means that he's able to summon not only him but any toad.

Q. What is Naruto's "new erotic ninjutsu"...?
A. I'd like to draw it one day. I can do it anytime, I just need the editor's approval.
