This painting was part of my final project for my Asian Humanities class. The prompt was to create a visual presentation representing the Six Realms of Rebirth (from which the Six Paths of Pain is inspired
 ) of Tibetan Buddhism. The realms are as follows (bottom up):Hell Realm: characterized by Anger Hungry Ghost Realm: characterized by Lust (not a "sexual" lust, but a perverted insatiable desire for things one cannot have) Animal Realm: characterized by Ignorance  Titan/Demi-God Realm: characterized by Jealousy (not the Western definition of jealousy, but a competition-based kind of jealousy) God/Deva Realm: characterized by Pride Human Realm: characterized by Desire (the only realm of rebirth in which Enlightenment is possible) And the images I painted are the images that came to mind when my professor described each of the realms (yes, that includes the Kyuubi-inspired Hell Realm). Oh, and the figure in the Human realm is not the Buddha, but a general Buddhist monk meditating.  And that's my dog in the Animal Realm.This was my first acryllic painting in almost two years. You're pretty good at painting with acrylic. I paint with it everyday in art class, but I horribly fail at it every time. TT_TT Anyway, I love the color differences divide each realm. -- Thanks a bunch to ~Ayakohi for the avatar~   I'm the world's worst critic, please forgive me.
 But I guess if I had to say, that little ghostie there might need a little bit of practice. No worry though, it's better than what I could do.  Although Missy does make an excellent focal point for the painting.  She's so cute.  Well, my last attempt with acryllic wasn't very good, but I guess the digital painting practice I've gotten helped me improve quite a bit.-- I believe in Jesus Christ as my Savior. Commission me: [link] "Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind." -Einstein Yeah, it was challenging to paint something so metaphysical as the Hungry Ghost realm. I tried making it look wispy and without substance by using a dry sponge with white paint, but I probably could've used a better technique. There's always room for improvement.

 And that thing in the corner... Ghost realm I suppose, turned out great, I like it! -- Why can't I have a pet hyena? Ahh yes that's true.

 This is beautiful. I think that each of images represent the concept perfectly. I love it and think you did a great job on it. There are no others words to describe how wonderful i think you did on this painting.
