Air Nomads: John Egbert

BENDERSTUCK

John Egbert is an airbender that hails from the Southern Air Temple. Despite his young age, John has recently earned the recognition of being a master airbender, thus attaining his arrow tattoos. There's only one other airbender in his generation that has earned this recognition. Unlike her, however, John isn't that interested in becoming a air temple monk. He prefers to travel abroad with his air bison named Liv Tyler (he doesn't know exactly how he got that name, other than a pesky feeling that a previous life of his was fond of the name) and meet new people. He has a particular fondness for a pretty and precocious Southern Water Tribe girl, and he brings her books back from his travels. He also frequently visits his half-sister from Omashu, and through her, he recently met a pretty awesome firebender.

Speaking of firebenders, John has been a little worried about their recent actions and how it could disrupt the balance between the nations. He's seen how awful this sort of conflict can be through novels he's read and Ember Island Plays he's seen (which he loves for some reason; he has a penchant for awful theater). His sister's visions and dreams are only adding to his concern. He's been keeping correspondence with a Fire Nation lieutenant and helping her through her personal problems, and through this friendship, he's also trying to learn more about the Fire Nation's plans and intentions.

He hopes that the four nations could rise up to fight against abuses against the balance. He wonders if he's the only one who thinks so.
